National Animal Disease Control Programme

  1. National Animal Disease Control Programme was launched in 2019  to control and eradicate the Foot & Mouth Disease (FMD) and Brucellosis amongst the livestock in the country.
  2. With 100 Percent funding from the Central Government, of Rs 12,652 Crores for a period of five years till 2024.
  3. the programme aims at vaccinating over 600 Million Livestock including cattle, buffalo, sheep, goats and pigs in an effort to mitigate the two diseases.
  4. The Programme has two components – to control the diseases by 2025 and eradication by 2030.
